Mystery Book - Fantasy #102

She fights monsters for money. Now she has to descend into the darkness to earn her freedom.

Seventeen years old and drowning in the debts left behind by her parents, one fierce young fighter has only one way to survive:

Fight monsters.

Night after night, she enters an underground fighting pit and battles terrifying creatures for the entertainment of others, saving every coin toward one goal—escaping the unforgiving island she calls home.

Then one fight goes terribly wrong.

Banned from the pits and desperate for another way out, she's offered a deal that's almost impossible to refuse.

Her debts will disappear.

Her freedom will finally be hers.

All she has to do is join a rescue mission into the abandoned mining tunnels deep beneath the island—and protect the expedition from whatever is waiting below.

There's just one problem.

She's trapped underground with her childhood enemy and a group of people who might kill her themselves if they discover the truth about her family.

And the deeper they travel, the stranger things become.

Creatures from legend are hiding in the darkness.

Someone isn't telling the truth about the mission.

And someone is determined to make sure she never reaches the surface again.
